The Trevor Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending suicide among LGBTQ+ young people by providing life-saving, affirming mental health support. They operate free, confidential, 24/7 crisis intervention services—including phone, text, and online chat—staffed by trained counselors who understand the unique challenges LGBTQ+ youth face. Beyond crisis care, the organization builds community through safe peer-support spaces, educates parents, schools, and caregivers on how to better support LGBTQ+ youth, conducts research to inform suicide-prevention efforts, and advocates for policies that protect young people’s mental health and safety.

Through these combined efforts, The Trevor Project works not only to respond to moments of crisis, but to reduce risk, increase acceptance, and help LGBTQ+ youth feel seen, supported, and valued.
